Ari and her friend Lindsey were eager to show their visiting parents a little of their Italy and took us shopping at the Sunday Agnano market near Naples. “What are we shopping for?” I asked Lindsey. With a gleam in her eye she declared, “Junk!”

Though tempted to buy, we last of the big spenders passed up the furniture and the string instruments. Pete found an espresso pot for less than $10, and I paid less than $5 for the two ceramic pieces combined. Ari found her chic yellow handbag there (top photo) on an earlier spree. Not bad for “junk.”
