Tomorrow morning we leave Villa Minghetti for other destinations. Our kids and grand kids who met us here in Tuscany will drive back down to Pozzuoli in southern Italy with the stuff that we don’t need in Cinque Terre and Rome this coming week.
We love this big old house and garden, the small town of Lamporecchio, and most of all getting to know the Italian owners and their extended family. It will be sad to leave. We’ll miss them.
Our art program, painting and learning with Tuscan impressionist Agostino Veroni, the main reason for our trip, was a major success. There’s talk of doing it again. Time will tell.
For now we’ll take and keep the friendships, the positive memories, our paintings, and our olive oil purchases home. Tomorrow Linda, Pete, and I say aloha to cousin Verdine whose next stops are her home on Maui, then Japan where she and her husband are Hawaiian music entertainers. We say aloha to Maureen who has a different itinerary. The others have already left.
I’ll “talk” to you again soon with more stories to tell.
